Last updated: 1 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data GaadiMate collects when you browse cars, use our calculators, take the EV quiz, or submit an enquiry, how we use and share it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Introduction

GaadiMate ("we", "us", "our") operates the website gaadimate.com, a platform for discovering, comparing, and shopping for electric and other vehicles in India. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal data when you use our website and services.

By using GaadiMate, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Contact details - your name, mobile number, and (optionally) email address when you sign in, submit a “Get Best Price” enquiry, or contact us.
  • Enquiry details - the car, variant, and city relevant to an enquiry, so we can route it to matching dealers.
  • Account activity - saved cars, favourites, saved comparisons, price-drop alerts, and recently viewed vehicles when you are signed in.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data - pages visited, tools used, search and filter activity, and the time spent on the platform.
  • Device and technical data - IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies - used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage. See the “Cookies & Tracking” section below.

We do not ask for passwords. Buyers sign in using a one-time password (OTP) sent to their mobile number.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide core features - car discovery, comparisons, calculators, the EV quiz, and your saved items.
  • To route enquiries - connecting your “Get Best Price” enquiry to dealers matching the car and city you selected.
  • To authenticate you - issuing and verifying OTPs and maintaining your session.
  • To improve the platform - understanding which tools and pages are useful, and fixing problems.
  • To communicate with you - responding to enquiries, sending price-drop alerts you opted into, and important service notices.
  • To meet legal obligations and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of the platform.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • Dealers - when you submit an enquiry, your name, mobile number, and enquiry details are shared with dealer(s) matching the car and city so they can respond with pricing and availability.
  • Service providers - trusted partners who help us run the platform, such as SMS/OTP providers, media hosting (Cloudinary), hosting, and analytics. They may process data only on our instructions.
  • Legal and safety - where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of GaadiMate, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers - in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your language and preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect some features such as staying signed in.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it. Account-related data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
